AWDP v3.0 has been released. This version of the ASCAT and ERS scatterometer wind data processor features processing of ASCAT data on an optimized 5.6 km grid which is synchronized with the mid beam antenna pattern, resulting in better high resolution wind retrievals. In the Ambiguity Removal step, empirical background error correlations can be used which yield improvements in the retrieved wind fields. Finally, several changes and improvements for the handling of ERS data have been implemented.
